34w1d

Well I have 6 weeks to go until my due date. I am wondering if I will make it? I really hope I make it past 36 weeks this time around. My belly is getting tight and I am starting to get uncomfortable. But, that doesn't stop Madilynn from kicking, pushing, rolling, dancing, etc. She is getting ready to keep up with her big brother. I am a little worried about Wyatt and his reaction to his little sister, but I believe he will adjust fine. There will probably be some jealousy, but that isn't unsual. He comes and pats my belly and loves on it constantly. It is precious. I am enjoying my little family of three, but I can't wait to make it four! Here is an update on questions I answered back in October, and with Wy. Then there is some pictures. I had maternity pictures done, my awesome shower, and just some randoms. Have an awesome weekend and stay DRY in this yucky weather!! :)

So where to start, hmmm. It has been a long week and a half. But things are looking up. Wy is healing nicely. He still cannot go back to school, it will probably be another week to week and a half. Maybe even longer. His stitches have to dissolve completely, and he can't straddle, climb, etc. which as many of you know is tough for my little man. He has been at times frustrated, angry, and adamant about what he wants to do. We have had some battles this past week, but can you blame the boy? Nope. He understands for the most part that he has a booboo and needs to be careful. I will have to say that this has been the worst recovery out of the three surgeries. It is mostly because he is older and knows more of what is going on. I am and have counted my blessings through all of this. Things could be much worse. I am thankful that we have an awesome doctor who doesn't think I am crazy for calling about every little thing I am concerned or freak out about. Now if I can just make him not constipated, then we will be doing great! We might be facing a fourth surgery in August/September but we will cross that bridge when we get there. Right now I am enjoying the time with my little guy, no matter how exhausted I am. ( I am looking forward to nap time today). I go back to work tommorow and he will be staying with grandparents. Sorry if this was a mumbojumbo mess, but just needed to write. Hope everyone has a good week!!

2013.....

So, let me just say I am looking forward to next month. January has been some what crazy and hectic. As I said in my last post Wyatt had pneumonia at the beginning of the month. Antibiotics, Steroids, and breathing treatments for at least a week. His first day back at school we had a scare. I have never been so terrified in my life. Mimi (Wanda) went to pick our lil man up from school, (like she usually does), and he was sprawled out on the floor. He wouldn't get up and wouldn't let her pick him up. He kept saying his back hurt. Then he started drifting off which freaked her out even more. The ambulance was called and he responded fine to them. By this time Chris and Papa (Dewitt) were there. I was frantically driving and crying the whole way. Probably not the best idea. We ended up taking him to the ER and learned that he fell sometime earlier that day and landed on his back. When he woke up from his nap the muscles had tightened up. So he was having muscle spasms. But, we learned that he did have an ear infection as well. So after new antibiotics and some Motrin we were sent on our way. We later discovered he was breaking out in hives. I know right..... Chris and I are weren't sure what to think, but thought that it was from the Motrin he had been given at the ER. I gave him Benadryl and he slept with us. Now we are wondering if instead of the Motrin being the culprit we are thinking it was the Amoxicillin he had been on for 6 days prior for pneumonia. Since Chris and his dad are both allergic. We go tommorow for a follow-up exam with his pediatrician for the pneumonia, ear infection, fall, and hives. Also to clear him for his third surgery this coming Thursday the 17th.
We have been waiting for this surgery for a little over a year, and now with everything that has been going on, I am leaving it all up to God. If it is God's will he will have it, but if not then we will put it off until this summer. As much as I have dreaded and cried about this upcoming surgery, I am at peace with whatever the doctor says tommorow. Because if his check-up doesn't turn out the way we are hoping then there is a reason and God has his reasons. So please keep your prayers coming and that we can stay healthy!
I still cannot upload pictures, but I will get it fixed!

Christmas 2012

We had a wonderful Christmas. I would have to say that watching Wyatt during the holidays was my favorite part. I loved seeing him so excited about the presents and finding Roy everyday. He kept telling us "Happy Birthday Jesus." It was so sweet and made me feel good that he somewhat understood the true meaning of Christmas. He was scared of Santa Claus this year so we didn't go get his picture taken. I was a little heart broken at first and not sure what to, but realized he wasn't alone, and that most kids are scared at some point. Right? I was sick unfortunately and not able to go see my family in Pensacola. But Chris went and he took Wyatt. I was glad and very lucky that he got to go see his great-grandparents and aunt and uncle. Wyatt was spoiled and received a ton of presents! He is one lucky little boy. We had a wonderful New Year's as well. We are now unfortunately dealing with pneumonia. :( So please keep lil man in your prayers, and me for my sanity, HA!!!! For some reason I can't upload pictures, but I will very soon! Hope 2013 is a good year and can't wait to see what it has in store for us!

December is here

Well what can I say but time has just flown by,  it is very hard to believe that it is all ready December. We have been busy. Let's see we have been working, moving back "to the city" as Chris and I call it, and celebrating Thanksgiving at the good ol restaurant of Cracker Barrel! Yes, we sold our house in Basin Bayou and are now renting a much bigger house in Niceville. Wyatt is growing up and is amazing us so much everyday. He is such a sweet boy and very smart. He is still a boy though and has his 2-year old moments. I am 22w4d along with our sweet little girl, Madilynn. I am afraid I will be having another active wild child. She kicks, rolls, punches, swims constantly. Her big brother loves her and kisses her all the time. He calls her "Madi Lou", and he can't wait to meet her. Well here are some pictures that I have uploaded and I promise to upload more later. Happy Monday, I am about to go run, yes I am still working out and will be running a 5k this Saturday.
Lil man just couldn't stay up any longer, so sweet

Favorite Recipe

Pumpkin Snickerdoodles
Yield: 3 dozen cookies
Prep Time: 25 min (plus chill time)
Cook Time: 10 min

Ingredients:

COOKIES:
1 cup (2 sticks) salted butter, at room temperature
1 cup granulated white sugar
1/2 cup light brown sugar
3/4 cup pure unsweetened pumpkin puree
1 large egg
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
ROLLING SUGAR:
1/2 cup granulated white sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon allspice

Directions:

1. In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to cream the butter until fluffy. Add sugars and pumpkin puree and beat well. Mix in egg and vanilla, scraping down sides of the bowl to incorporate all of the ingredients.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt and ground cinnamon. Beat flour mixture into liquid mixture a little at a time just until incorporated.
3. Cover dough with plastic and chill at least an hour, or until dough becomes slightly firm.
4. When ready to bake, preheat oven to 350°F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper (or spray with nonstick spray). Mix rolling sugar ingredients in a small bowl.
5. Remove cookie dough from refrigerator. Use a medium cookie scoop (1 1/2 Tablespoons) or a large spoon to scoop out dough and roll into balls. Use your hands to roll the balls in the cinnamon sugar and make sure they're coated really well. Place 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets. Use a glass with a nice, flat bottom to dip in sugar and flatten the balls.
6. Bake at 350°F. for 10 to 14 minutes, or until they are slightly firm to the touch. Let cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes or so, then remove them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Tips:

*Store in an airtight container. These cookies freeze well too. Place them in freezer zip bag and remove from freezer when the craving hits.
